Teeter Totter

teeter totter, never fall
balance on the moonlit feint
listen closely for the call
begging for a bygone saint

teeter totter, so hell bent
cautious now, must hold thy breath
pray the din derails the scent
of dreams decayed, of heaven’s death

teeter totter, always see
straight beyond the morning’s lies
truth beyond the misery
love for which one must despise

teeter totter, never falter
shuffle through the moonlight night
kneel before the bygone altar
begging for a single light
